Energy Efficiency
The energy management solutions offered today – such as the “Energy Saver” mode on many thermostats – are of the “one size fits all” breed. These solutions use the same savings program for a five-bedroom home in Texas as they do for a two-bedroom apartment in New York, without taking into account constantly changing outdoor temperatures or a home’s unique thermal characteristics.

EcoFactor uniquely offers intelligent, automated action for adaptive management and control of HVAC use.

  Demand Response
EcoFactor is an optimized HVAC management service that enables utilities to realize a greater yield of demand response – as much as 20 percent per home – even as it significantly reduces discomfort and inconvenience for occupants relative to conventional one-size-fits-all DR.

  Diagnostics and recommendations
EcoFactor can detect degradations in HVAC system performance over time and compare HVAC systems, building envelopes and HVAC programming between like houses and offer up best practices to the home owner.

  Measurement and Verification
EcoFactor's energy management system is based on the collection and analysis of data. Every AutoPilot adjustment we make is saved as are the resulting effects. Measurement and verification is not an afterthought -- it is hardwired into our whole solution.

  Building Envelope Evaluation
In the past, attempts to model the thermal performance of structures like houses has generally involved elaborate efforts to understand and model the individual theoretical characteristics of the building, using calculated values for the effects of insulation, window size and type, etc. WIth EcoFactor, the actual performance of each individual home is  measured every day.

EcoFactor’s SaaS-based energy management engine collects, stores and processes 24,000 points of data each day from individual homes, local weather stations and numerous other geographic inputs – 12,000 from inside the home and 12,000 from outside the home. The result is an individualized HVAC Auto-Pilot program that can easily save homeowners 20 to 30 percent in HVAC energy usage without sacrificing comfort or convenience.

Given that more than 50 percent of the average energy bill for American homes goes towards heating and cooling, such HVAC reductions result in significant cost savings
